October 25, 2007 - Neighborhood America, the leading enterprise social network solutions provider, today announced the launch of its first-of-a-kind website connect2elect.com. The breakthrough election destination provides individuals an opportunity to thoughtfully prioritize the issues and beliefs of primary importance to them, and through matching algorithms and enterprise social networking technology, be presented with a visual map illustrating the presidential candidates that are most, and least, aligned with them at a highly individual level.
For an unbiased match, citizens are aligned with candidates based solely on their top ten priorities as they relate to four categories: social issues, political issues, core beliefs and candidate's personal attributes. Connect2Elect.com differs from other political social networks by outlining the most important issues to the voting public and eliminating the popularity factor, party lines, titles, or other influencing factors involved in traditional political polls. Neighborhood America will have the ability to capture unique data from large samples with the click of a button, analyzing responses by category or as a whole for the purpose of evaluating what is important to the people, or anticipating voting behaviors.
Neighborhood America developed Connect2Elect with the support of introNetworks, a leading provider of online community mapping software technology. Through the potent combination of community, knowledge and the best of Web 2.0 technologies, Neighborhood America is providing an ideal platform with the potential to radically alter the way citizens select candidates - in a visually compelling way.
"Neighborhood America is focused on establishing valuable and powerful connections between individuals and brands. By helping people identify the issues that are important to them and then connecting them to candidates who share those beliefs, Connect2Elect.com has the power to change the course of elections in the United States," said Kim Patrick Kobza, CEO of Neighborhood America. "With this groundbreaking technology, people will have the information they need to focus their research and cast an informed vote that goes beyond sound bites, press conferences and popularity."
The Connect2Elect.com site, currently in beta testing, registered more than two thousand visitors in its first two weeks. Some interesting early results revealed the following:
• Becoming less dependent upon overseas oil production, and more dependent upon alternative fuel sources at home, is a clear priority among Connect2Elect.com participants, with 58% selecting this as a priority.
• Similarly, Over 50% of respondents expressed that global warming was a great concern.
• Among the social priorities rounding out the top ten are the support of 'same sex' issues that are currently being debated.
• In regards to the personal qualifications of a candidate, early results indicate that citizens strongly prefer candidates who have ‘served in public office' (43%) and favor those with a business background over a legal background by nearly 3:1.
• Religious preferences are nearly 50/50 split among those who prefer their candidates to have at least moderate religious faith and those who say religion does not belong in politics.
"Fascinating, I believe that had it not been for Connect2Elect, I would be voting by popularity - rather than sizing up my views and my concerns with that of each candidate," said one connect2elect.com user in California. "I will have to do some digging as perhaps my decision wasn't quite as informed as I thought! This is a great website."
